Certificate in Sustainable Practice (Level 5)
Dates: 6th May- 20th September 2013.
This is a full time course, made up of block courses, face to face teaching and lots of practical work on your own project.
The ethics and principles of permaculture design are combined with a framework for strategic sustainable development to create an action-focused, transformational programme. This programme will empower you with the tools, ideas and vision to make clear choices about purpose and actions. You’ll learn sustainable principles and frameworks and how to apply them to your project, organisation or business.
Successful students will gain a permaculture design certificate and a level 5 certificate from Otago Polytech.

In March and April we are offering a chance to join us…to learn about building vaults and domes from pressed bricks. We began this journey in January and will continue in March and April until completion.
The earthbag house is getting a roof made of pressed brick domes and vaults.
In this workshop you will learn how to build using the ground from under your feet – very low cost but very long lasting. This technique is an example of sustainable practice.
Awhi Turangi Trust is a bi-cultural Trust set up to care for the people and land of Turangi. We are creating a centre for sustanable practice. Everyone interested is invited to come and learn and share about permaculture, regeneration and living abundantly, without debt.

The 10 acres is in the process of turning from a jungle of 3m high gorse, blackberry and other weed into a productive food jungle.
